About Greater Pittsburgh Community Food Bank

Greater Pittsburgh Community Food Bank collects, stores, and distributes more than 27 million pounds of food and grocery products per year to 400+ member agencies and affiliated food banks in southwestern Pennsylvania. Food pantries, soup kitchens, daycare centers, personal-care homes, homeless and women’s shelters, public housing communities, after-school programs, and others serve more than 120,000 people per month, of whom 37,000 are children. The recipient of numerous awards for excellence in nonprofit management, the Food Bank attracts support from major corporations, foundations, and individuals, and is grateful for the donated hours of more than 10,000 volunteers.

Additional awareness and educational efforts engage the public in becoming partners in The Campaign to End Hunger, a movement to change public policy and focus on resolving the issues that stand in the way of ending hunger. Member of Feeding America.
